Which Direction Are You Moving?


I have a secret that I want to share with you.  Once you understand this secret, your health and healing process will begin to make a lot more sense.  Everything is a process.  There.  It’s just that simple.  Everything is a process and everything is always changing.  Don’t believe me?  Just look around and observe nature.  We have seasons, growth, death, erosion, etc.  Everything is constantly changing and nothing stays the same.

The same is true of our bodies.  We are made of trillions of cells, all performing thousands of different functions at any given moment.  So, it is absolutely impossible for us to be the same from minute to minute, much less day-to-day and year to year.  In fact, every 9 to 13 months all of your trillions of cells have been replaced at least once and you have a whole new body.  Pretty cool, huh?

There are basically two processes that are taking place in our bodies at any given moment; the process of growth and the process of death.  Both processes are always occurring, but the goal is to have a net total of more growth than death at the end of the day.  When it’s all said and done, we want to grow more than we die, don’t we?  We want to get a little stronger and healthier everyday instead of a little sicker and weaker.

How do we do that?  How do we make sure we get stronger instead of weaker, healthier instead of sicker?  How do we make sure we grow more than we die?  The answer is really very simple.  We live our lives BY DESIGN!

  1. A positive and deliberate focus – We must train our minds to focus on the life we want to create, not the life we want to avoid.  We cannot escape what we give our attention to, so make sure you’re giving your attention to what you WANT, not what you DON’T want.  Have a clearly defined purpose for your life.  We all have a calling on our lives.  There is a very definite reason you are HERE, NOW.  It’s up to you to figure it out and go for it with full on determination and commitment.
  2. A healthy lifestyle – Making healthy lifestyle choices is tantamount to experiencing more growth than death.  We must supply our bodies with good solid building blocks with which it can build.  We simply cannot get stronger and healthier every day if we ignore our body’s need for plenty of water, nourishing, healthy  BY DESIGN foods, and amply movement/exercise.  Starting today, decide to make your lifestyle a bit healthier.  Replace a soda with a glass of water, go for a 15 minute walk, choose raw almonds or some veggies for an afternoon snack instead of the usual chips or candy.  You don’t necessarily have to make drastic change all at once (although, you might want to consider it) to experience the benefits.  Step by step, little by little you can improve your life.  To learn more about EAT BY DESIGN and MOVE BY DESIGN check out our upcoming seminars.
  3. A clear neurological CONNECTION – It is absolutely imperative that if you want to get stronger instead of weaker everyday, you MUST have a clear neurological connection between your brain and your body.  Your brain and nerve system control every single tissue, organ, and cell in your body.  What’s more, each of those trillions of cells is in constant communication with your brain.  Without clear communication between your brain and your body, your body cannot comprehend and effectively respond to its environment.  You can’t adapt to what is going on around you and within you.  Basically, without a clear connection, you body can’t work as well as it is designed.
  4. A properly aligned and functioning spine – Because of the intimate relationship between your spine and nerve system (specifically your spinal cord), if your spine loses its proper alignment and function, you partially lose this vital brain-body CONNECTION.  However, once you are able to restore the proper alignment and function of your spine, through chiropractic adjustments, your body can re-establish a clear neurological connection and you can resume getting stronger and healthier everyday.
